Our Rosé Guide to the Côte d'Azur

When you think of the South of France its hard not to think of days spent on a deckchair overlooking the Côte d’Azur, while handsome waiters bring you icy cold magnums of Rosé. We call this the Rosé way of life and it's easy to spend the Summer - and your bank account savings - on long lunches that follow into the early hours of the morning. Each Riviera beach club has its differences, both in atmosphere and budget, so here’s our pick of the best of the bunch along the Cote d’Azur.

  Paloma Beach, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat.

Paloma Beach, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat.

PALOMA BEACH There is no doubt that Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat is about as exclusive as it gets. The Beach was named after Paloma Picasso and has been in business since 1948 - including the existing shack that started it all. Secluded in a hidden peninsula, Paloma beach is the perfect place to enjoy what the French Summer is all about - pristine waters, delicious food and plenty of Rosé.  As they say "Paloma Beach is like coming home after a long voyage”, it is a place of family tradition, celebrity patronage, and the bewitching nostalgia of summers past. http://www.paloma-beach.com

Club55 - Plage de Pampelonne, Saint Tropez.

Club55 - Plage de Pampelonne, Saint Tropez.

Maison Bianca -  Plage de Pampelonne, Saint Tropez.

Maison Bianca - Plage de Pampelonne, Saint Tropez.

Club55 - Saint Tropez is a favourite of ours at Rosé Imports and Club55 is a must. Complete with beach, boutique and restaurant it doesn't get more Chic! Club 55 is beach club royalty, and the guest list shows it - you may run into a celebrity or two! Don't forget to pick up a bottle of Château de Pampelonne.  www.club55.com

Maison Bianca - The newcomer to the gang, this is set to be a favourite of ours this Summer with its sushi bar. Boasting a beautiful white-and-blue terrace, two boutiques, a beauty salon and a massage parlour, this is the place to sit back and relax, of course with Rosé in hand!

Bagatelle - This stop doesn't have the history that some of the others have but that isn’t always important. Bagatelle is one such venue, expanding to Saint Tropez after success in St Barts, Rio, and New York. Bagatelle has recently reopened its doors and is a serious contender. The quintessential beach club with wicker chairs and white table cloths.  www.bagatellesttropez.com

  Z Plage, Cannes.

Z Plage, Cannes.

Z Plage - This designer beach club is part of the Hotel Martinez. It is famous for its beach area and vast pontoon with teak decking and deliriously comfortable lounges. The most sought-after beach club experience in Cannes! And just to confirm its pronounced 'Can'!  cannesmartinez.grand.hyatt.com
